Thrive Africa Launches Its First-Ever Plant-Powered Holidays Campaign
Thrive Africa launches its first-ever pan-African Plant-Powered Holidays Campaign, a continent-wide initiative running from November 15th, 2024 to January 3rd, 2025, inspiring a more compassionate and sustainable festive season across Africa.
This Africa-wide campaign — coordinated by the Thrive Africa Vegan Women’s Initiative — celebrates African culture, flavor, and heritage through vibrant plant-based foods. It aims to promote a festive period rooted in compassion, sustainability, and health — while challenging the rise in animal slaughter that often accompanies the holiday season.
Across the continent, vegan women advocates under the Thrive Africa Vegan Women’s Initiative are leading the way — championing a celebration that honors health, compassion, and care for all living beings.
During the holidays, animal slaughter and consumption often increase. The Thrive Africa Plant-Powered Holidays Campaign seeks to redefine the festive spirit by encouraging plant-based celebrations that are kinder to animals, better for the planet, and nourishing for our communities.
Throughout the campaign, advocates will share plant-based recipes, cultural stories, and holiday celebration ideas online. They will also host panel discussions and virtual engagements exploring the environmental, ethical, and health benefits of a meat-free festive season.
Vegan Women advocates and participants across the continent are invited to join the campaign.
