2023 marks Thrive Philanthropy's first year of global grantmaking and movement building, supporting organizations and advocates working to end factory farming and create just, plant-based food systems.

Through effective, equitable, and trust-based philanthropy approach, Thrive Philanthropy provides grants, capacity building, and community support to changemakers around the world who are advancing food system transformation.

In our first year, Thrive's global grantmaking reaches organizations across multiple regions, supporting projects focused on advocacy, education, research, community engagement, and plant-based food systems change.

Thrive also launched Africa Vegan Restaurant Week, the world's first pan-African vegan campaign, with 29 participating organizations across 15 African countries promoting plant-based menus and community engagement.

Beyond grant funding, Thrive Philanthropy invests in strengthening the wider movement by creating opportunities for collaboration, knowledge sharing, and leadership development. This year, we launched a Global Expert Advisory Committee, bringing together 18 experts from 12 countries to provide guidance and support.

As Thrive Philanthropy continues to grow, our focus remains on expanding global grantmaking, deepening movement-building efforts, and supporting advocates and organizations working toward more just plant-based food systems.

The achievements of 2023 are made possible through the dedication of Thrive Philanthropy’s grantees, donors, partners, advisors, and community members who are helping build a stronger global movement for plant-based food systems.
