Thrive Africa Vegan Women’s Initiative Accepting New Members

Thrive Philanthropy’s Thrive Africa Vegan Women’s Initiative is emerging as a transformative space for women-led plant-based advocacy across the African continent and is now accepting new members.

Born from a recognition of a major gender gap in grant proposals, the initiative is addressing funding hurdles that Africa-based women often face. By dismantling these barriers, the movement is experiencing new growth, powered by women-led campaigns and advocacy.

The Thrive Africa Vegan Women's Initiative is a transformational leadership journey for Africa-based, women-identified vegan food justice advocates that offers management skills, leadership development, speaking opportunities, a network of women food justice advocates, and more. Registration has increased by 500% by the second year, dozens of fresh campaigns are being launched, and more women-led grant projects are being realized than ever before!

Within the initiative women-identified vegan advocates are connecting to an international network, gaining access to funding opportunities, and developing leadership and campaign skills. Most importantly, members are turning these resources into action—launching campaigns that continue to grow the plant-based movement across Africa.

Thrive Africa Vegan Women’s Initiative is managed by Kenya-based powerhouse Virginia Ruguru, Thrive Africa Co-Manager. Learn more and register here.
